Member Spotlight: Steph Wilson

Steph Wilson is probably one of the most involved, active people we know. Not only in her career as a physical therapist (she and her hubby own and operate Wilson Physical Therapy) but as a coach, a mom and a friend. She simply buzzes with energy. And always is smiling. Even when she's pushing herself to the man during a spin or Bootcamp class. We are so honored to have her as a member of the studio from 2013 and her presence in our community.

What brought you to Spot Wellness and what keeps you coming back?

I first started attending classes at Spot Wellness because I was looking for a change in my workout routine.  I continue to come back because I love the variety of classes and the quality of the instructors. I also love the socialization with the wonderful SPOT members!

Who’s your biggest fan?

I would have to go with my daughter Haillee.  She always writes the nicest things about me and it makes me feel so loved!

Vanilla or chocolate?

Definitely Vanilla.

Favorite rainy day activity?

Catching up on everything from e-mails to organizing papers/bills etc.

Tea or Coffee?

Tips tea with milk!

What song do you love to sing in the car?

"Roar" by Katy Perry.

What was the scariest thing you’ve ever done and are you glad you did it?

Every time I get on any roller coaster! I have a profound fear of height but I love Roller Coasters. The first part of the climb is always pure torture but I absolutely love the part that follows!

What is your definition of strength?

Strength to me is defined by individuals who refuse to fail. They continue to work hard through adversity and find a way to be successful at anything they set out to do!

Name one healthy practice or habit you've learned over the years that always makes you feel better, even if you're having a bad day.

Go WORK OUT! If it's spin, TRX, lifting weights, going for a run or a bike ride, even if it's only 30 minutes it is enough to clear the mind and get back on track!

How has Spot Wellness helped you develop other fitness or wellness goals?

For me it provides a structured environment. I hold myself accountable to attend the classes that I sign up for and have overwhelming guilt when I miss so I try not to.

WHAT EVENT STICKS OUT AS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE NIGHTS DOWNSTAIRS?

I don't get to go often (I have only been to two) but I really love the Trivia Nights. If my schedule wasn't so busy I would go all the time.

WHAT DO YOU MOST APPRECIATE ABOUT THIS PLACE THAT MAYBE YOU WEREN’T EXPECTING?

The wonderfully diverse group of members and instructors that I have developed friendships with over the years.
